SLU’s network to be upgraded in multiannual project

Published: 19 August 2022

Network safety and capacity will be upgraded to fulfil current requirements.

Almost all the work we do requires a fast and reliable connection to the Internet and our own systems. The hardware and software that make up our current network are partly obsolete; they do not fulfil the university’s needs and do not match current requirements for public authorities.

This is why we, together with supplier Atea, will be upgrading and replacing SLU’s network in a multiannual project called Nät 2.0 (Net 2.0). This project is a substantial investment, with long delivery times. Work will start in 2023 and take place gradually to minimise the impact on users. Information on planned service disruptions will be communicated to those affected.

Facts:

SLU is a public authority and must comply with the regulations issued by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) on information security, IT security and incident reporting. The network upgrade is part of our efforts to comply with these requirements.
