Facts:
Food & Cities is a joint collaboration between SLU Urban Futures and SLU Future Food, exploring research at the intersection of sustainable urban development and sustainable food systems.
Food&Cities is offering funding for researchers and PhD students at SLU to take part in the AESOP – Sustainable Food Planning conference,19-22 October 2022. Applicants can apply for up to 15 000 SEK, which will go towards covering the costs of participating in the conference, including the registration fee, travel and accommodation for a trip to Almere, the Netherlands.
The aim of this funding is to support PhD students and researchers at SLU in building cross-disciplinary networks connected to the thematic focus of Food&Cities; and help showcase research at SLU internationally. Food&Cities hopes this exciting opportunity will give insight, inspiration and ideas for cross-disciplinary research exploring the systemic relations of food systems and urban development and how these relationships influence the transformation towards sustainable societies.
Up to 15 000 SEK to go towards travel, accommodation and registration fee for the AESOP Sustainable Food Planning conference in Almere, the Netherlands.

The conference 2022 is titled: Feeding the melting pot: agroecological urbanism for inclusive and sustainable food practices. The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners and policy-makers from around the world to critically engage with regional food systems from an agro-ecological and social-equity lens.
