Lutz Ahrens nominated for the Göran Gustafsson Prize in chemistry

Lutz Ahrens has been nominated for the Göran Gustafsson Prize. The prize is one of the most prestigious award among young researchers in Sweden.

Each year, the vice-chancellors at the Swedish universities nominate candidates for the Göran Gustafsson Prize in the areas of mathematics, physics, chemistry, molecular biology and medicine. Lutz Ahrens, senior lecturer at the Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment, has been nominated by SLU's vice-chancellor in the field of chemistry.

The successful candidates  this year were awarded just over five million SEK in research grants, distributed over three years.

The names of the prize winners will be published in March 2021.

Facts:

The Göran Gustafsson Foundation for Research in Natural Sciences and Medicine was established in 1989 by a private donation of 270 million SEK. The primary objective of the foundation is to promote basic science in molecular biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics and medicine.
