Clear routines when the head of department must be appointed

Published: 12 March 2019

The ambition for an institutions' employees to have a more explicit opportunity to actively participate when a new head of department is appointed has made NJ's routines now clear and documented. Anyone who is responsible at the department for the process of finding suitable candidates should ensure that all employees are given the opportunity to speak in the process.

After the nomination group has presented its recommendation for the dean and the views the employees have made, the process goes on with interviews with the person or persons who are considered most suitable for the assignment. The dean will appoint the new head of department no later than April 30th. Head of departments take office on July 1.
