In September, Sweden's first conference on the topic Green Care was held in Skara. The hosts were the Department of Animal Environment and Health together with the Agricultural Society.
Green Care is about using agricultural farms or green environments to promote health and quality of life. The conference brought together about 120 participants from the "white sector" with medical and treatment staff and the "green sector" with the people who work with animals and nature.
- Various skills were gathered, from research to business. We have much to learn from Norway, a country in the forefront concerning certification of farms, VH Faculty Dean Kristina Dahlborn says.
- Now, let's continue with finding good methodology for researching this area, that fits well with SLU's new research platform Future animal and health. One issue to pay attention to is the animals' experience in this context.
