Evil email from ‘PostNord’

Published: 17 November 2016

An evil email with the alleged sender ‘PostNord’ is circulation. If you follow the instruction all the way, files in your computer will be encrypted, and perhaps even on other common storages.

Always be suspicious about these emails, it is a common fraud technique!

Do not click the link! Do not download the file!

  • If you clicked the link and followed the instruction through, immediately disconnect the network cable, turn off the Wi-Fi and turn off your computer. Also contact your IT-support immediately.
  • If you didn’t download the file, just delete the e-mail.

Ransomware is a type of malicious code that encrypt part of or the whole of your computer or connected systems, such as common storage systems. That can lead to huge consequences such as loss of information and big waste of time when recovery is done. The attacker is demanding a ransom to unlock your information. The receiver often has a connection with known terrorist organisations.
