Golnaz Ezzati

My main research interest is the investigation and mitigation of the impact of anthropogenic activities on natural resources to promote sustainable intensification and environmental conservation. This would eventually lead to development of sustainable high-input farming strategies and monitoring techniques while minimizing negative externalities on soil health, water quality, and forest ecology.

Research

-Surface runoff of nutrients (N, P), leaching of nutrients through agricultural ditches and soil/subsoil

-Detect/prevent nutrient losses and preserve natural attenuation capacity and nutrient cycling in view of projected climate change scenarios

-Developing (engineering design of) sustainable low-technology management concepts and pollution mitigation practices at laboratory and farm scale to manage water pollution and enhance soil quality in land drainage systems

-Application of remote sensing techniques for monitoring and assessment of natural resources and species distribution modelling
