Educational Seminar (Umeå) - AI for educators: foundations for understanding and practice

In these extended sessions in Alnarp (21 May), Uppsala (27 May) and Umeå (3 June) we will revisit material from the first 3 AI development seminars for those who missed the seminars, or who want an opportunity to further reflect and discuss the ideas and issues raised in those seminars (and get to meet and chat with your teaching colleagues).

We will cover material from the previous seminars:

  • What is AI and how do I get started?
  • How to talk to AI (and get back useful information)
  • Integrity and ethics when using genAI: what can we ask of our students and ourselves?

This will include an extended discussion around these issues and an opportunity to try out some techniques and ask questions about how to work with these tools to help you and your students. During the session there will be a break and fika will be provided. The main discussion will finish at 15:30 for those who need to leave early and we will continue to 16:00 for those who want to stay and try out some extra AI prompting techniques.

Matthew Low, Project leader (AI for educators) and Researcher at the Department of Ecology.

The seminar is conducted in English and no fee.
