Worth Knowing: Biodiversity in cities – how, why, and who for?

Welcome to a lunchtime lecture where Marcus Hedblom, Professor in Landscape management at the Department of Urban and Rural Development, talks about the possibilities and necessity of biodiversity in cities. Please note that this lecture is in Swedish.

Even as cities grow denser at the expense of green areas, new regulations highlight the importance of nature and biodiversity in our urban landscapes. In Worth Knowing Marcus Hedblom draws on both his own research and that of others to discuss the need for biodiversity in cities, and its importance for both humans, animals and nature.

Marcus Hedblom is Professor in Landscape management at the Department of Urban and Rural Development since 2021.

If you are unable to attend, the lecture will be streamed live on SLU Play the SLU Library’s Facebook page. The lecture will also be available on SLU Play afterwards.
