Save the date: Nordic perspectives on Soil Health: an exploratory interdisciplinary workshop

Forest and sunlight

The concept of "soil health" is gaining traction across scientific publications, media coverage and policy discussions. How to manage healthy soils is being discussed in agriculture, forestry, urban planning, and natural resource departments. But the questions remain: what exactly is soil health and is it a useful concept?

This workshop aims to bring clarity to soil health from an interdisciplinary scientific perspective. We invite researchers from various fields who work with soil such as microbiologists, agronomists, ecologists, economists, and others. Our aim is to create a cohesive understanding of soil health among SLU researchers while also delving into the disagreements surrounding its definition and practical use.

This full day workshop will be held in English.

An updated agenda will be available later in May.
