Seminar on program- and course development in connection to the doubling project at SLU

seminars, workshops |

The seminar will give an overview of the pedagogical support and development within the doubling project from a bird’s eye perspective, sharing concrete examples from three different degree programmes.

  • Michelle Cleary, course leader of “Trees, structure, and function” (15 hp) in the Bachelor’s Programme Forest and Landscape Management at Alnarp,
  • Petter Axelsson, Programme Director of Studies of the Bachelor’s Programme Forest Science in Umeå, and
  • Bodil Dahlman, Programme Director of Studies of the Bachelor’s Programme in the Landscape Engineering Programme at Ultuna,

will tell us about their pedagogical development and show examples of various tools.

In 2017, the doubling project was launched, envisioning an increased number of students at SLU vis-à-vis the creation and reforming of educational programs in the process. In fall 2021, the first programmes were launched in this endeavour. From the start, until the first students in the new programs arrived at SLU, intensive planning of teaching took place, supported by the Education Development Unit (EPU). The implementation of programmes and courses has brought forth many different ways of developing teaching at SLU.

Welcome to this seminar for learning about our experiences and sharing ideas on programme- and course development!

The seminar will take place on zoom. The link will be e-mailed to registered participants a few days prior to the seminar.

The seminar will be in English.
