Important future issues for the faculty and how I can contribute

SLU has strong research, distinguished educational programs, and a unique environmental monitoring mandate. I want to contribute to developing synergies between these areas so that all of them become even more relevant to our research, more attractive to students and researchers, and have a greater impact on society. AI is an exciting technology where we need to deepen our knowledge and create favorable conditions for our researchers, environmental analysts, and students to learn and be able to apply this new tool.

Personal reflections

The challenges of managing land and water, producing food, and harvesting natural resources in a sustainable way have never been greater. The trend is moving toward the need to co-locate the benefits we want to derive from land and water, and new developments must favor the surrounding natural environment. SLU and our faculty have excellent conditions to be leaders in this future societal development, both from a national and international perspective.
