Starting January 1, 2025, a new procedure for absence reporting to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency will be introduced.
This change means that from this date, employers are required to report days of absence. This applies to absences for parental leave, child care, and the 10 days at the birth of a child. In other words, those that qualify for parental benefits from the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
To ensure that we comply with the new rules and avoid incorrect reporting, it is crucial that all deviations in working hours are reported on time.
The dates and information we report must match the information you provide to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. This is essential for you as an employee to receive the correct compensation and avoid rejections or repayments.
If your absence is not registered on time or is incorrectly registered, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency may ask you to verify your absence with a certificate from SLU. Contact the Payroll Unit at loner@slu.se and we will assist you.
