A new staff policy is in place. It has been designed to strengthen the dialogue around employeeship, the work environment and workplace expectations.

The policy is a way of clarifying how we, as managers and staff, are expected to interact with each other, perform our tasks and engage with society. The policy replaces the previous version that was introduced almost 25 years ago.

Director of Human Resources, Anna-Karin Olofsdotter explains, ‘It was time for an overhaul and this new policy provides us with a better basis for addressing both everyday situations and complex work environment challenges’.

The new policy will provide clarification and create a better work environment for all. It can be used to support discussions on employeeship and the work environment throughout the organisation.

Anna-Karin Olofsdotter continues, ‘We wanted to develop a dynamic document that can be used as part of our everyday activities. It should be a tool that can help us be even better together, while creating a work environment and culture where everyone feels safe, respected and motivated. I would like to encourage everyone to read the policy, and reflect and discuss it with colleagues’.

The vice-chancellor approved the staff policy in January 2025. It is part of SLU’s systematic work environment management.
