Training in Basic Information Security

Published: 30 September 2024

On October 1, the European Cyber Security Month will begin. It is an EU campaign aimed at raising awareness of information and cyber security issues among the public and organisations. SLU is highlighting the month by launching an updated e-training course in basic information security for all SLU employees.

At SLU, we handle large amounts of sensitive information. Therefore, we must consider security aspects in our daily work. In the new e-training course on basic information security, you will receive short lessons on phishing, password management, and the importance of fostering a good information security culture.

Starting Friday October 4, all SLU employees will receive the new information security e-training via email. The training consists of sixteen lessons, ending with a knowledge test. Each lesson takes only a few minutes to complete and can be done on a computer, phone, or tablet. The training is provided through SLU’s Nanolearning platform.

The purpose of the training is to raise awareness about information and cyber security across SLU, with a particular focus on current threats and risks.
