Booklet

The Swedish Work Environment Authority have simplified their provisions to make it easier to find, understand and implement their regulations. These new provisions enter into force on 1 January 2025 and will see a reduction in publications from 67 to 15

The changes have been implemented to ensure that work environment regulations are clear and concise and to make it easier for people to find out which rules apply to them. Additionally, people will be able to gain a better overview of the regulations and understand how they go together.

It will also provide a clearer understanding of the regulations that apply to certain work. The content of the work environment provisions will generally be the same, with the exception of new regulations for building contractors, planners and construction work coordinators.

These changes will not have a significant impact on SLU, however it is important that you familiarise yourselves with the new structure and provisions. The Electronic versions of the provisions are also available on the  Swedish Work Environment Authority’s website.

What do we need to do at SLU?

  • Heads of department or their equivalent must provide information about the new structure during meetings with local collaboration groups.
  • Managers and health and safety representatives must familiarise themselves with the new structure on the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s website.
  • Heads of department or their equivalent must determine who will update references to the new work environment provisions in departmental/unit documentation such as quick reference material, checklists and support materials.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority's website has more information about the changes, as well as information videos and frequently asked questions.
