A delegation from Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM) in Mozambique visited SLU today 23 May, as part of the ongoing Sida-funded bilateral cooperation between Sweden and UEM. The aim of the visit was to discuss opportunities and challenges with leadership and governance at a research focused university.
- Our vision and mission is to transform UEM to a research-led university by 2028. Since cooperation is one of the mechanisms in reaching this goal, we would like to thank Sweden for the long and consistent support of research capacity-development in Mozambique, said Amália Uamusse, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at UEM, in her presentation.
During their stay at SLU, the delegation met and discussed with Ylva Hillbur, Pro Vice-Chancellor for international relations, and with several staff at SLU involved in the capacity development programme. There was also time for a short tour on campus Ultuna with a visit to some of the laboratories in the MVM (Soil-Water-Environment) building.
