Student opportunity: Represent SLU at international meeting on global development

Published: 26 March 2018

Interested in agriculture and environment for global development? Want to expand your contact network and meet people from over 30 research organizations? Then apply for a trip to the University of Hohenheim and the AGRINATURA General Assembly.

AGRINATURA is the Alliance of European universities that work with research and education for development.  SLU/Sweden hosts the presidency of the alliance from 2017 – 2021.

From the 25th until the 27th of April 2018 Agrinatura has its annual General Assembly in Stuttgart Germany. The workshops this year address two major issues:

  • The research partnership on food and nutrition security between the African Union and the European Union – a milestone
  • Meaningful participation and true multi-stakeholder cooperation –a tough order to fill.

SLU Global offers an all-costs-covered trip to the Agrinatura General Assembly to the person who can describe why just they should be the person to represent SLU. The winner will participate in the meetings by being an official reporter (for example taking pictures, writing short texts for the website, tweeting, or blogging). These tasks you will share with other MSc/PhD students from other European countries.

How to apply?
  1. Look at the Agrinatura website and the programme for the General Assembly
  2. Write a short motivation (max 150 words) why just you should be selected to represent SLU as a reporter to the General Assembly
  3. Send your motivation to global@slu.se (subject box write AGRINATURA) at latest 5 April
  4. SLU Global will contact the winner by 9 April
