The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Sweden visited SLU

SLU’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Karin Holmgren welcomed His Excellency and thanked him for his interest to visit SLU, and gave an overview about SLU’s focus areas. Prof. Anders Malmer, Director of SLU Global, presented the status of international collaboration at SLU.

Several SLU researchers presented their activities in an effort to cover the broad spectrum of SLU’s research and innovation areas, providing information about ongoing co-operation with the Republic of Kazakhstan and opening the discussion on future collaboration. His Excellency provided contacts to universities and institutes in the Republic of Kazakhstan, relevant to SLU, and stated that he will actively encourage collaboration with SLU in research, but also in education and capacity development. The visit of His Excellency Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dr. Dastan Yeleukenov ended with a tour at the Department of Molecular Sciences at the Biocentrum where His Excellency was introduced to the laboratory facilities and showed a genuine interest on the facilities and the research possibilities offered at the Department.
