SVT's review of leaked passwords

Published: 25 November 2016

There are millions of email addresses and associated passwords published on the Internet.

These passwords come from different websites hacked over the years. If you use the same password on other sites as you do on a hacked site, the unhacked account is in danger. If you use the same password in SLU's systems as on a hacked page, YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY CHANGE THE PASSWORD in SLU's system!

To check your password, please visit https://www.svt.se/dold or https://haveibeenpwned.com. You will see if the password associated to your e-mail address is leaked from a hacked site, but you cannot see the password. On "haveibeenpwned" you can also receive an email when new databases is leaking so you can quickly check if your password is in trouble.

For information about passwords, see Information and recommendation at Staff Web / Support & Services / Security / Information Security.
