Eutrophication and acidification

SLU researchers tries to solve the problems with eutrophication and acidification in lakes, water courses and sea waters.

SLU's Environmental Monitoring and Assessment programme Eutrophication aims to provide data on which to base action to combat eutrophication of our aquatic systems. It provides an up-to-date picture of the source and size of eutrophication sources and their development over time.

The programme Acidification provides a platform for efforts to achieve the Natural Acidification Only environmental objective. Liming measures to combat acidification are one of Sweden's major economic environmental undertakings.
