Ylva Hillbur is pro vice-chancellor with responsibility for internationalization, doctoral education and Agenda 2030 at SLU since 2017.
Presentation
From 2012 to 2017 she held the position of deputy director general with responsibility fo research, at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture, IITA, one of the CGIAR institutes with headquarters in Nigeria.
Prior to joining IITA, Ylva worked at SLU with research and education, primarily in plant protection focusing on insect chemical ecology. Between 2006 and 2012 she was head of the department of Plant protection biology at SLU.
Ylva obtained a master’s degree in animal ecology at Lund university, doctoral degree and associate professorship at SLU, and has also been appointed adjunct associate professor at Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
Ylva is member of a number of national and international boards and advisory groups, and has been part of several international evaluation panels in the field of research and higher education.
