I am senior lecturer in histophysiology and associate professor in inflammation
The aim of my research has been to identify harmful and protective mechanisms that operates during inflammatory diseases, e.g. allergy, sepsis and obesity. I am particularly interested in the role of the immune system and I have mainly focused on the ability of mast cells to regulate inflammation.
Mast cells can release substances that stimulate or suppress inflammation
