The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture - opportunities for collaboration with SLU

RUFORUM is the biggest consortium of universities in Africa currently having 163 universities in 40 countries. Dr. Okori is an SLU alumni and received his doctoral degree from SLU in 2004. After that, he has served in different high-level international positions, before becoming RUFORUM’s Executive Secretary. He is now visiting Sweden and SLU for a series of workshops and meetings with SLU colleagues to promote closer collaboration between SLU with RUFORUM and its university members.

Dr. Okori will start his visit in Alnarp on 5 September participating and presenting in the Symposium dedicated to millets. About the symposium, read more here. Dr. Okori will then visit Uppsala and will meet our Vice-Chancellor and other colleagues working internationally on 6 September.

On Thursday 7 September, an open seminar with Dr. Okori as main speaker will take place in Uppsala, with possibility to attend on Zoom. An open discussion with SLU colleagues will follow focussing on how to strengthen our partnership to tackle the local and global challenges related to agriculture for development. 

This is a great opportunity for us SLU people to exchange ideas on how to move forward our collaboration with distinguished university partners in Africa.
