Plant defence to attack by multiple herbivores

Tamm Seminar by Erik Poelman, Associate professor, Department of Plant Sciences, Wageningen University.

Information from Erik Poelman:

Typically individual plants are under attack by multiple species of insect herbivores, at the same time they compete with neighbours for light and nutrients and need to attract pollinators to their flowers. My group studies how plants use induced defence to deal with attack by multiple herbivores, and whether the assembly of insect communities on individual plants matches defence plasticity in the Brassicaceae. In my seminar I will focus on plant-herbivore-pollinator interactions.
