This is due to the change where SLU:s systems now has been connected to the Swedish Population Register, as we previously informed you about. Unfortunately, our supplier delivered the update a little earlier than expected, so the change took place two weeks ahead of schedule.
What can you do now if you have not yet updated your information in the Population Register and, for example, your preferred first name is incorrect?
- If you use a nickname that is not officially registered, it cannot be used at SLU, as we rely on the information in the Population Register.
- Preferred first name: There is still an opportunity to go to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) and register this. Instructions are provided below. Free of charge.
- Middle name: If you have two surnames and one of them is registered as a middle name, you can download a form from Skatteverket and submit it if you want to convert your middle name and surname into a double surname. In that case, both surnames will appear as your display name. Free of charge. Skatteverket – Change surname (in Swedish)
- If you have more than one surname but only want one of them to be displayed, please contact Skatteverket. Skatteverket – Contact information (in Swedish)
The next transfer of information from the Population Register will take place in approximately one month, so you should act as soon as possible.
