Activation of our new network in Undervisningshuset at Ultuna will begin soon

The activation will take place from 11 to 19 September.

How do I connect to the WiFi network?

Make sure your computer is restarted and updated. When the new WiFi is activated, computers managed by SLU’s IT department will connect automatically.

Other devices can connect through the device's WiFi menu. Students should continue use eduroam as before.

The new network is called SLU-WiFi (managed) for automatic connection with Windows devices, SLU-WiFi for other devices managed by the SLU IT department, SLU Guest for all other devices and eduroam for students.

When will the WiFi network be activated?

The activation will take place September 11-19. We will initiate the network activation in the exam halls and then continue to the lecture halls.

Will the new network affect my work?

There will be some instability when the WiFi network is activated. We will work to minimize any disruptions and ensure that the transition is as smooth as possible during the planned change window.

First, we will activate only the wireless network (WiFi), while the wired network will continue to function normally.

Once WiFi is activated, the replacement and activation of the wired network will begin. During this time, you will be able to use the new WiFi.

Changes to the new network for students

During the fall 2025 semester, we will change how students connect to the SLU network. These changes aim to improve security for you and SLU’s systems.

After the changes take effect, you will only be able to use eduroam to connect to the internet on campus. If you have trouble connecting, follow the instructions or contact support.
