Temporary Test Pit on Campu

A test pit will be excavated within a designated area on campus (see red outline in image 1) during the month of May as part of a temporary ground investigation project. The area will be restored upon completion of the work.

Purpose of the Work

The test pit is being conducted on behalf of Uppsala Municipality as part of the High-Capacity Public Transport project. The aim is to verify the elevation of an existing gravity sewer pipe to ensure that future pipeline rerouting does not result in any conflict. Since this involves a gravity-fed system with sensitive elevation requirements, a clash with a pressurised wastewater pipe could have significant consequences. Therefore, it is crucial to determine the actual elevations at an early stage.

• The work may cause temporary disturbances near the test pit.

• Always follow signage, route guidance, and safety barriers for your own safety.

• Avoid passing through the marked area during the work period.
