Continued high quality in research and environmental assessment secured

Published: 07 September 2022

A quality assurance routine is now being introduced to ensure that SLU continues to offer environments and conditions that promote high quality in research and environmental monitoring and assessment.

The system that is now being introduced ties together and formalizes the routines that already exist at SLU. The elements that are added are designed to increase the workload at departments and faculties as little as possible.

The system relies on internal situation analyses, identification and implementation of development measures, and follow-up of these measures according to a specified timeline. The procedure will help departments to be better prepared for the external Quality and impact (Q&I or ‘KoN’) evaluation, which will be carried out every 8 years.

– I am happy that the group that developed the system based it on our working methods today, and had a dialogue with all heads of departments so that the new routines that strengthen and connect our work today are motivated and feasible. There is reason to have faith that the work will be valuable from the institution's perspective as well as UKÄ:s (Swedish Higher Education Authority) perspective, says Vice-Chancellor Maria Knutson Wedel.
