SLU's Environmental Monitoring and Assessment programmes Forests, Climate and Wildlife announces development aid

Published: 12 January 2021

SLU's Environmental Monitoring and Assessment programmes Forests, Wildlife and Climate announces development aid. The closing date of this call is 12 February 2021.

SLU's Environmental Monitoring and Assessment (EMA) programmes Forests, Wildlife and Climate, coordinated by the Faculty of Forest Sciences (S-faculty), announces funding for projects in one of the following areas:

  • development of new methods in EMA
  • new applications by using EMA data
  • delivers results requested by a stakeholders
  • making EMA data available.

We encourage applications that contribute to SLU's strategy – primarily sustainability and digitalization.

At SLU there is broad competence, extensive databases and well-developed contact net to different stakeholders and their needs. Through this call, the Faculty wishes to encourage new applications in the EMA area and increase collaboration both within SLU and to different stakeholders. It is an advantage if our stakeholders request the results from the projects that grants funding.

The applications will be presented and discussed with the external reference groups of the programmes, after which the EMA board of the S-faculty will submit a proposal for a decision to the Dean. The discussions with the reference group is in itself of great value, as it contributes to a dialogue about the development and focus of SLU's environmental analysis.

The maximum amount per application is 250 000 SEK. The announced project funds comprise 450 000 SEK for each program (corresponding funds for 2-3 projects within each program) and are announced as a one-time budget in 2021. However, parts of the funds may be available in 2022, if special reasons for an extension exist. Preliminary reporting of the projects will take place in November 2021 in SLU's reporting system. In addition, the project should include a popular scientific publication of the results. Scientific publications of the results are encouraged, but should be done outside the funding of the projects.

The application is made in the digital form. Also send the finished application in pdf format to the Registrar at registrator@slu.se (use the print function in the browser and save as a pdf file). Use "SLU-ID 2020.4.3-4777" as subject.

The form should be opened in the Internet Explorer browser, for full functionality (but it also works in Chrome and Safari). In case of any technical problems with the form, contact Mikaela.Asplund@slu.se.

The closing date of this call is the 12th of February 2021. Decisions are expected to be announced in May, 2021. In case of late or no delivery from a project, the Faculty may withdraw funds.
