News from Head of Department, week 24

Published: 15 June 2020

The Friday greeting turned into a Saturday letter!

I am sorry you didn't get this letter yesterday. I simply ran out of both time and energy when I biked home at 17 o'clock yesterday. But, now I have been to a great and sunny sail race and my spirits have returned!

The past week started with a meeting of the joint management board for UDS-KV, where we among other things revised the proposal for rules of procedure for cooperation between KV and UDS. Decisions on the revised rules of procedure will be taken at the next group meeting of the group on June 24.

On Tuesday, it was KV info, albeit in digital form, where we received information from KV's study directors and the faculty research secretary, among other things. Furthermore, the plan for the introduction of the new medical record system at UDS and also at KV (the ruminant clinic) was presented. Attached to this email are the PowerPoint images I used for KV-info, including the list of who is in charge during the summer weeks.

For your information, the Faculty Board had a meeting on June 10, which you can both read about and see more of here:

The past week included many individual meetings, which mostly circled around the development of some of our subject areas. Important and fun meetings! It is truly inspiring to see all the will and creativity available at the department! You rock!
As I mentioned last week, MRSA has been found at the equine clinic. In connection with this, KV's premises (house 3 and more) have now been sampled and we await answers the comming week. Those in the staff who want to test themselves for MRSA can call and book time at Länshälsan (see contact details below). If the test would be positive, Länshälsan will help us to take your case further.

The coming week includes, among other things, a meeting with KV's strategic council (where we will talk about the strategy work coming this fall), meetings about the new medical record system, KV's management group and with the joint clinical management group KV-UDS. The week is rounded off by midsummer even on Friday which for me means the start shot for a long-awaited holiday leave. So next week is the last letter of prefect for the summer!

During week 25 I will be in place on Wednesday and Thursday.

I wish you a nice weekend!

Our study directors will keep you updated around what applies specifically to KV. We must prepare for the worst and hope for the best in terms of autumn's teaching, I think.
