Delegation from tropical research institute visited SLU

Dr. Nteranya Sanginga, Director General and Dr. Bernard Vanlauwe, Director R4D from the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA) met with the management of SLU on 8 June 2017. The aim of the visit was to discuss and explore further collaborations between IITA and SLU.

During the day of the visit, several SLU researchers presented their projects for the IITA delegation.

SLU and IITA have several ongoing collaborations, such as Biofortification of Cassava (Erik Alexandersson, Department of Plant Protection Biology, SLU),  Youth Agri-Entrepreneurship (Kostas Karantininis, Department of Economics, SLU), and others.

The discussion during the meeting circled around the continuous collaboration and plans for the way forward, but also how to best complement each other, how to generate resources and funding, new possibilities etc.
