Grants for research infrastructure available now for application

Published: 29 May 2017

SLU:s research infrastructure funding is now open for application. The last date for application is 15 September.

For the third year in a row, an internal call for strategic support for research infrastructure grants is now open for applications.

The infrastructure grant is intended for "such infrastructure that provides new conditions for world-class research". This can be anything from a facility, a specialty laboratory, a database to instruments or similar. An absolute requirement is that the infrastructure is available to users outside the home department.

The funding can be granted partly for new procurement or construction of new infrastructure, partly for upgrading and completing existing infrastructure, but also specifically for developing accessibility and user support.

Last year's announcement resulted in five research infrastructures being granted a total of approximately 25 million, for the period 2017-2021. The Vice-Chancellor decision on this support is available here (in Swedish only).

The available amount for the 2017 call is a total of 25 million, for the period 2018-2022. The plan is for the announcement to be made annually.

Deadline for submission of application this year is 15 September.
