SEMINAR IN ENGLISH When extreme rainfall hit Västernorrland, roads and railway tracks were severely damaged by flooding and erosion. But what drives these extreme flows, and why are some areas more vulnerable than others?
How do precipitation, soil properties, forest cover and forestry interact with drainage infrastructure to shape flood and erosion risks? And as climate change brings more intense rainfall and faster snowmelt, what can we expect in the future, and how can we better predict and prepare for these events?
