The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has had major consequences for the world's food system and food security. At this breakfast seminar organised by SLU Future Food and SLU Global, we will discuss how the pandemic's most severe effects on food systems can be reduced and how we should build resilient food systems that provide food security for all.

SLU Future Food and SLU Global invites you to a breakfast seminar to learn more about the complicated topic of the global food system and the threats the new pandemic has on it.

The COVID-19 pandemic has jeopardized people's access to food and the global economic slowdown will put even more strain on the global food system. The situation is serious and the consequences dire if not mitigated. But how can the pandemic's most severe effects on food systems be reduced and how should we build resilient food systems that provide food security for all?

The main conclusions in a new United Nations CFS-HLPE Issues Paper on the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the food systems is presented by Shakuntala Thilsted, member of CFS-HLPE. The report will be reflected upon by Kajsa Johansson from We Effect and Sofia Boqvist from SLU and then a general discussion will follow.

Click here to see a recording of the webinar. The recording is available until 17th December 2020.
