There are offices and classrooms as well as laboratories for students in the MVM building.
Akademiska Hus owns the building, SLU is the tenant.
The entrances are adapted for wheelchair users. The elevators are 'speaking'.
The facilities have fire- and emergency alarm. The alarm is connected to the Fire Station.
The indoor climate is automatically controlled and the lighting goes on and off according to presence.

Weekdays from 7.30 am to 5 pm during the semesters. Parts of the house, primarily our laboratories, are always locked for safety reasons. Exeptions are mailed out from the intendentur.

The MVM building has many rooms of various sizes and with various equipment for meetings.
The meeting rooms can only be booked by someone who is employed / working at one of the departments of Energy and Technology, Soil and Environment or Aquatic Sciences and Assessment. Booking through Outlook.

The fire alarms that are both audiblle and visible (flashing lights).The alarm is connected to the Fire brigade.
Flammables are stored in a special and secure way.
There are water sprinklers throughout the building.
Rescue stations are to be found in strategic places in the building.
There are two defibrillators in MVM Centre, one near the entrance and one on fourth floor, opposite the northern elevator.
The elevators as well as the RWC:s (toilets for disabled persons) have emergency buttons. The alarm is connected to an emergency center.
The burglar alarm in the building is always switched on.
The MVM building has fire and evacuation alarms. The alarm is audible as well as visible (flashing lights). The alarm is connected directly to the Fire Station.
Every Department has it's own fire managers, people who help in case of fire. They are appointed by the head of Department, and get special training on evacuation in case of fire.
There are water sprinklers throughout the building.
Rescue stations are to be found in strategic places in the building. Every rescue station has a fire blanket, first aid kit, fire extinguishers and and evacuation plan

Please study the evacuation plan so that you know where to find the emergency exits and the fire equipment etc, but also to find out where the assembly point is.

The assembly point for us working in the MVM building is at Gerda Nilssons väg 3 at the parking lot by the delivery entrance/caretaker's).
If there is a fire and the fire alarm goes off you must leave the building. Follow the evacuation signs to get out. All stairways are escape routes. Fire doors close automatically, so that the smoke does not spread. You must not use the elevators!
If you get injured and need first-aid materials, you will find this at the rescue stations in the building. Rescue stations are found in many places in the building.
There are two defibrillators in the MVM building, one near the entrance and one on fourth floor, opposite the northern elevator.
Now and then we organize training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use the defibrillators. Below, you can find a link to a short and informative instructional video (in Swedish).
Emergency showers you´ll find in the laboratory corridors, and also in the goods reception
On the ground floor, close to the north elevator, you will find one of the rest room and one at the 4th floor in attic corridor. You can find a bed, chair, sink and an emergency alarm in the rooms.
On the groundfloor, floor 2, you will find changing rooms in the laboratory corridor. There is one changing room for gentlemen and one for ladies.
Inside the changing rooms there are cupboards, seats and showers.
