Communicator at SLU

Last changed: 08 October 2025

There is a strong focus on communication and information at SLU. Around 115 communicators work throughout the university today.

Introduction for new communicators

When needed, the Division of Communication arranges an introduction day for newly hired communicators. The full-day session focuses on the communicator’s role at SLU and gives you the opportunity to meet representatives from the division.

Keep an eye on the calendar for upcoming invitations.

The SLU Communicators’ Network

The SLU Communicators’ Network aims to strengthen SLU’s brand by developing our professional skills and sharing knowledge.
Collaboration makes us more effective and helps create a consistent image of SLU.

There are many people at SLU whose work involves communication and information – not only at the Division of Communication, but throughout the organisation. The network’s goal is to offer professional development and an arena for sharing experiences and best practices.

What the network offers

  • Several meetings each year focusing on current topics – sometimes including seminars with external speakers. Previous themes have covered branding, media impact and reputation, communication law, social media, target groups and gender, and science communication.
  • Direct email updates, including news and early information about developments in communication at SLU.
  • A collaborative platform for exchanging ideas, finding solutions, and contributing to stronger, more unified communication across the university.

Participation is open to those who:

  • have professional communication skills,
  • work primarily with communication,
  • have a broader communication responsibility or a support role in the field,
  • and are engaged in communication activities on an ongoing basis.

Invitations to meetings are sent by email to all network members.
