Venue: Urban landscapes – a new webinar series from SLU Urban Futures and SLU Tankesmedjan Movium

Published: 20 March 2025

Venue: Urban landscapes is a new series of webinars hosted by the future platform SLU Urban Futures och SLU Think Tank Movium. It brings together academia and practice to share knowledge, experiences and insights on current research and practice-oriented projects.

With this seminar series, we aim to strengthen collaboration between universities, the public sector and industry, as well as other actors in the built environment sector. We want to accelerate the transition towards a more robust, vibrant and inclusive society with attractive and sustainable environments - and we want to do it together!

The first webinar in the series will be broadcast on 27 March at 8:30-9:30. It will focus on equitable access to parks and green spaces.

Is urban greenery fairly distributed? Breakfast webinar on the Green Equity Index

Based on this question, researchers have developed a methodology - the Green Equity Index - which analyses the socio-economic status of areas and access to greenery. The hope is that it will help municipalities create cities that are better for both the environment and people. The city of Malmö has tested the method as part of its green planning.

At the webinar, you can learn about the ideas behind the index, how it works and the experiences of using it.
