IPCC calls for nominations

There is now an opportunity open for those of you who have a broad knowledge of climate change and related issues to register your interest in participating in a preparatory meeting regarding the IPCC's seventh assessment report. Deadline is May 28, 2024.

The preparatory meeting (Scoping meeting) is about preparing a proposal for disposition in the seventh evaluation report's three sub-reports: "The  physical science basis of climate change", "Impacts, adaptation and vulnerabilities" and "Mitigation of climate change". The work to produce these will take place in three working groups. 

The meeting is planned for December 2024
The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is looking for experts who have a broad knowledge of climate change and related issues. See link below for further details on what expertise is required:

IPCC calls for nomination of experts to draft outline of the Seventh Assessment Report

The preparatory meeting will result in a so-called Scoping paper, with a proposal for an outline in the interim reports and a timeline for its implementation. The preparatory meeting is tentatively scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December 2024. The draft outline will be sent to the panel for approval in early 2025, before author groups can be selected to work on the report.

Support for SLU author contributions to IPCC reports

Support is also available for SLU researchers to engage in authorship duties with IPCC – which may range from future Assessment Reports to special reports on specific topics. Read more here...
