Food & Cities Seed Funding Call 2023

Published: 25 January 2023

Researchers at SLU can now apply for seed funding from Food & Cities. The aim of the seed funding call is to support cross-disciplinary research that explores the systemic relations of food systems and urban development and how these relationships influence the transformation towards sustainable societies. Deadline for the application is 14 April 2023.

The purpose of the Food & Cities seed funding call

The purpose of the call is to support cross-disciplinary research that examines the systemic relationships between food systems and urban development and how these relationships affect the transformation to sustainable communities.

In 2023, Food & Cities seed funding wants to encourage and will give priority to projects investigating aspects of food planning, but applications addressing other subjects will also be considered. Uttermost it is the quality of the application that is the decisive factor for the application to be granted.

What can you apply for?

  1. Short-term projects/pilot studies, which could be the basis for larger cross-disciplinary projects
  2. Writing applications with a multi-, inter-, or transdisciplinary approach.

The funds can be used for salary, costs of stay and travel for those involved in the project and for organizing seminars / workshops / consortium building.

Who can apply?

Researchers at any faculty at SLU. Involving junior colleagues is encouraged. It is also encouraged to involve one or more key actors outside of academia as co-applicants.

How much can you apply for?

We will grant three projects SEK 50,000 each.

Call deadline

Friday 14 th April 2023.
