News from the VH Faculty Board, 23 March
The faculty board held its third meeting on 23 March. A new delegation of authority, new rules of procedure and appointing members of boards and committees were some of the items on the agenda. The board was also briefed on the status of the expansion of the degree programmes in veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing, as well as on the financial perspective on skills provision.
Board and committee members
The faculty board approved members of several VH boards and committees. The term of office is usually three years, and members take up their posts three months after the new faculty board. The newly elected board members’ term of office will run from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2025.
New faculty delegation of authority
In connection with the new faculty board taking office, the VH Faculty’s delegation of authority has been updated. The tasks of, e.g., the deputy dean, vice deans, boards and committees have been reviewed. Content has been clarified by removing texts that had been copied from the delegations of authority of the SLU Board and the vice-chancellor. Instead, there are references to these and other important documents in the introduction. The updated delegation of authority will remain in force for three years but may be updated during this time.

New rules of procedure for the faculty board
At the beginning of each term of office, the faculty board adopts its rules of procedure. This document specifies how the faculty board will operate. The new rules of procedure will be valid for three years.
The rules of procedure cover formalities such as how meetings will take place, who can attend, who has the right to be present, the right to expression and to take decisions, who to invite to meetings, rules for the conduct of meetings and how voting will be done.
