News from NJ Faculty Board

The Faculty Board at NJ had a meeting on 22 April. Here is a summary of the most important news.

Members of the hearing assembly appointed

The Faculty Board decided on which persons at NJ should be part of the hearing congregation that advises the recruitment group in the process of recruiting a new Deputy Vice-Chancellor. The hearing assembly has 31 members and each member has a personal deputy. The NJ faculty's departments have submitted proposals for members and deputies.

The Faculty Board's preparatory committee has since assessed the names and submitted a comprehensive proposal to the Faculty Board.

The members will participate in a hearing on 31 May with the candidate or candidates remaining in the recruitment.

Each member has a personal deputy.

Members of the Nomination Committee appointed

The NJ faculty's nomination committee has now been decided. In January 2021, those entitled to vote were invited to nominate candidates for a new nomination committee for the term of office 1 June 2021–31 May 2024. A total of eleven nominations were received. Each member has a personal deputy.

  • Bo Stenberg, Department of Soil and Environment, Skara
  • Ingrid Öborn, Department of Crop Production Ecology, Uppsala

Klara Fischer and Göran Hartman were appointed chairman and vice chairman, respectively, for the term of office.

Started recruitment of professor of plant pathology

The Faculty Board decided to start recruiting a professor of plant pathology with agricultural crops as the preliminary focus at the Department of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology. Sara Hallin was appointed chair of the recruitment committee. Dean Torleif Härd will appoint the remaining members.

New associate professors at NJ

The Faculty Board decided to appoint the following people as associate professors, ie all those who gave their lectures in March this year.

  • Annika Nordin in the subject Technology.
  • Eveline Krab in the subject Soil Sciences with specialization in Soil Biology.
  • German Martinez Arias in the subject Biology.
  • Harry W Fischer in the subject Rural Development.
  • Jens Rommel in the subject Economics.
  • Johan Östergren in the subject Biology with specialization in Ecology.
  • Josefin Sundin in the subject Biology with specialization in Ecology.
  • Libère Nkurunziza in the subject Crop Production Science.
  • Marcos Lana in the subject Crop Production Science.
  • Mohammad Bahram in the subject Biology.
  • Oksana Golovko in the subject Environmental Assessment with specialization in environmental chemistry.
  • Ola Lundin in the subject Biology with specialization in Ecology.
  • Sabine Sampels in the subject Food Science.
