The NJ Faculty Board convened on 27 October. This newsletter contains details about the decisions taken and other information.

Principles behind the allocation of direct government funding 2022

The faculty board has taken a decision on the principles that will apply to the allocation of direct government funding next year. The dean will then issue a decision on the allocation and related details in line with the principles established by the faculty board.

Appointment of docents

The faculty board has appointed the following persons as docents at the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences:

  • Georgios Tzelepis for biology
  • Gordana Manevska-Tasevska in economics
  • Jonas Hentati-Sundberg in biology with specialisation in ecology
  • Pernilla Tidåker in technology
  • Pierre Chopin in crop production science
  • Salim Bourras in biology specialisation in plant pathology

New member of the environmental monitoring and assessment board

Katarina Magnusson from the Department of Aquatic Resources has been appointed onto the environmental monitoring and assessment board. She replaces Sara Bergek from the Department of Aquatic Resources, who has stepped down from the board following her appointment as coordinator for the Lakes and Watercourses EMA programme.

New member of the PhD Student Council in the faculty board

Josefina Jonsson is a new member of the NJ Faculty board.

New investments into graduate schools

The NJ Faculty currently has seven research schools. Information suggests that the SLU Board will take the decision to invest in graduate schools which will be integrated into regular activities. The existing graduate schools must submit an application for their planned activities for the next for years, no later than 6 December. Suggestions for new graduate schools are also welcome. SLU’s Great Medal for Distinguished Service awarded to Ing-Marie Gren

SLU’s Great Medal for Distinguished Service was presented to Professor Ing-Marie Gren, professor of environment and natural resource economics at the Department of Economics. The Great Medal for Distinguished Service is awarded for research efforts considered to be “remarkable from an international perspective”.
