Managing equity in research and doctoral studies

Published: 25 September 2020

The faculty board has decided to set a limit on equity for the departments. This primarily concerns unused direct government funding, not unused funds from external funding bodies.

The faculty board has decided to transfer, at the end of each year, to the faculty centrally any equity within the area of research and doctoral studies that in relation to turnover exceeds:

  •  2020: 9%
  • 2021: 7%
  • 2022 and onwards: 5%
  • When calculating equity, several exemptions are made.

The decision also sets out that departments must plan operations to ensure that unrestricted equity (not related to outstanding work) does not exceed 5% of the turnover in the area of research and doctoral studies.
