SLU contributes to campaign against crowds at Walpurgis

Published: 28 April 2020

A Walpurgis campaign, coordinated by the Uppsala County Administrative Board, is being planned. Partners include the Uppsala County Administrative Board, the Police, Uppsala Municipality, Destination Uppsala, Region Uppsala, Uppsala University and SLU.

A press briefing was held on Monday 27 April with all partners present. SLU was represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Karin Holmgren.

The warmer and sunnier weather means people, in particular the young and students, meet outdoors at cafés and in parks. By taking part in this campaign, we want to contribute to an attempt at reducing such crowds.

Students and alumni are SLU’s main target group, and we can reach them via email, web and social media.

Stay at home this Walpurgis, celebrate where you are – in the garden, on your balcony or indoors. Don’t contribute to spreading the virus and unnecessarily burdening the
healthcare services. #stayathome
