News from Head of Department, week

In good tradition, I get to start the letter in a positive spirit with the good news (which just reached me) that the Boxer Club has donated one million kronor to SLU for research on cancer and cancer biomarkers at KV. Good luck with this research, Henrik Rönnberg!

I want to thank everyone who participated in this year's last KV info that took place on Tuesday. Thanks to Lina who in a clear way updated us about the undergraduate education and Miia who told us about the new graduate school GS-VMAS. Furthermore, together with Lina I had a dialogue with VMF about the GU situation and participated in a meeting with KV's course leaders. Both of these meetings involved good dialogues and constructive conversations! Good conversation is something I have also had with both UDS and the faculty management during the week. A major point of discussion has been the introduction of the new journal system, where invoicing has proved difficult, but where there is now a way forward. As I said, it is important that the introduction goes as well as it can! The week ended in good spirits when Elin Manell defended her thesis!

Next week offers a meeting with the top management for environmental work, a meeting more HR about the next step in the payroll movement, collaboration meeting at the department (work environment), joint clinical management group UDS-KV (GKL), principal recurring corona meeting, meeting with the steering group for the journal system, meeting with KV's management and a few other goodies.

During week 51 I will be on duty Tuesday-Friday.
