News from Head of Department, week 3

Christmas holidays are just a memory and the meeting calendar is filled again. It is mostly fun and interesting meetings that in many different ways are about how we will meet the future. Today, there was big variation - from a meeting with Anna Selin (our latest doctoral student - welcome), a meeting on new floor wells in the "bulan" to several different discussions about the implementation of the “Together project”. Speaking of the “Together project”, the website with more detailed information will be launched on January 22, so keep your eyes open for this if you are curious! 

During the week that passed, the Faculty Board held a two-day meeting where the department heads were invited to the discussions on the faculty's strategy work. It was a good forum where many of our future challenges and opportunities were discussed. We also took the opportunity to celebrate the ever-young Henrik who celebrated his 50th birthday! Congratulations! 

Next Wednesday morning, the department's new and significantly smaller ‘ledningsgrupp’ will gather for a first meeting. My intention is that we should meet a little more often, but that the meetings will be shorter than before. In the afternoon it’s the the dean's prefect council where discussions about strategy work, lab premises and the view on the possibility of promotion to lecturer/professor are on the agenda.
