At the NJ Faculty, there have not been any recruitments for senior academic posts (teachers, professors, senior lecturers, associate senior lecturers) for many months. The reason for the hiatus is that the advisory committee has been tasked with developing proposals for how the faculty should prioritise when recruiting teachers.
During the faculty board's latest meeting, the advisory committee presented its priority proposals for teaching posts. This means that some departments can begin assembling supporting documents to the faculty board connected to requests concerning recruiting teachers.
During the same faculty board meeting, Faculty Administrative Officer Frida Lindqvist presented her analysis of completed recruitments of senior academic posts 2015–2019. The analysis investigated the division between female and male applicants as well as the number of internal SLU applicants. The analysis included 24 associate senior lecturers, 10 senior lecturers and 17 professors.
Amount of male applicants:
The only gender equal recruitment during this period the NJ Faculty achieved was the post of senior lecturer. The full report can be found here (only in Swedish).
The analysis will be submitted to a JLV (gender equality and equal opportunities) officer currently being recruited for a post divided between the NJ and VH Faculty. Their assignment will be to develop measures that lead to more gender equal recruitment.
