SLU alumnus encourages Ugandan students to choose SLU

Published: 24 October 2019

On Monday, SLU alumnus Bruno Sserunkuma Akejo attended the Study in Sweden Academic Fair at Makerere University Kampala in Uganda. The fair was organised by the Swedish Embassy in Uganda and Study in Sweden.

The event gave students the opportunity to get in-depth information about universities in Sweden, including SLU and our international Master’s programmes.

During the event, Bruno shared information about our university, the application process, scholarship opportunities and of course student life in Sweden. Bruno studied at SLU between 2014 and 2016 and is the founder and director of Action for Child Social and Economic Transformation (ACSET) in Uganda.

‘The fair was a success and I hope that SLU will continue to be represented at similar fairs. To my surprise, about 5 students told me that they had heard that SLU is one of the best agricultural universities in the world’, says Bruno.

All in all, approximately 300 students attended the fair. Later this autumn, other alumni from SLU will participate in similar fairs in Vietnam and Indonesia.
