Criticality in, on and for design

The course explores the phenomenon of critique and its importance for the evaluation of design practice and the practical design of landscapes and the built environment. It takes a landscape architectural perspective on urban landscapes, but is also well suited for researchers from other design disciplines, or those interested in the field of design. Its core element is a PhD seminar hosted at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC from 25 to 28 September 2018, and it includes attending the 10^th International Biennial of Landscape Architecture in Barcelona. Participants will elaborate academic criticism on the design works presented during the Biennial by the finalists of the renowned Rosa Barba Award.
